She’s Gotta Have It (1986) – Spike Lee’s groundbreaking debut follows Nola Darling, a fiercely independent Brooklyn artist juggling three very different lovers. A bold, funny, and stylish exploration of love, freedom, and Black womanhood, it’s a must-watch for fans of indie cinema and cultural game-changers.



 



Rye Lane (2023) – a vibrant and heartwarming British rom-com directed by Raine Allen-Miller. Set in South London, it follows two young Black Brits, Dom and Yas, who meet by chance and spend a whirlwind day together, bonding over heartbreak, humor, and shared adventures. With stunning visuals, witty dialogue, and undeniable chemistry, it’s a fresh and joyful take on modern love.




 



Ìfé short (2020)- Ìfé a groundbreaking Nigerian queer love story directed by Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim and produced by Pamela Adie. This intimate and beautifully crafted film follows Ife and Adaora, two women who spend a romantic weekend together, deepening their love while navigating the challenges of being queer in a conservative society.
