Dir. Miklas Manneke

In a township in South Africa, an argument about which apple is better, the red or the green, causes the greatest divide in the town’s history. A big white line is drawn through the middleof the town to divide the lovers of green and red apples. The one rule that greens and redsdo not mix is broken when Thomas, a boy from the green side of town, falls in love withThandi, a girl from the red side of town. A colourful parody of segregation, Kanyekanye is amagical take on the new South Africa.

The film is part of BFI’s ‘LOVE’ season.
